Simply Goodbye (Lyrics without a Tune)

I can sing a tune when I am in the bathroom. I have the guts to belt out my lungs when I am drunk. I have the courage to reach high notes only when I am alone. I am a frustrated singer. That’s what I am.

I still remember I used to be a choir member both in my elementary and high school days. I really did, though most of the time I would get not praises but complains from my music instructor. During my elementary days, I normally hear, “silang kamet, agtugaw kan!” (wala ka sa tono, umupo ka na lang!) and some hurtful words from my HS music instructor. That didn’t discouraged me at all but somehow lessen my undying belief that I am singer. LOL. When I was in college, I actually auditioned for a singing contest. Haha, but this was a practical joke as I sung the national anthem and didn’t even manage to finish the song. That was fun.

Eventually, I forgot I really did wanted to be a singer. Only at times when memories keeps flashing back. There was a time when I was a kid, I sing along with multiplex / minus one tapes. Anyway, I did played an instrument hoping to release my musical inclination. I was a member of the Drum and Lyre, again both in Elem and HS – the only guy who plays the lyre during those times. That didn’t help much though. Until four years ago, I bought an acoustic guitar that I never learned to play.

On to the actual post, a few days ago I saw a YouTube video. The one that I watched was “Vanishing Away” by Traveliztera. I came across Glentot’s blog and found out that there were actually three versions. No, i don’t want to render my own version. I wouldn’t give justice to the original composition.

I just thought that they could actually help me – not about my singing. LOL. But about something I wrote way back October of 1999. This is actually one of the reasons why I bought an acoustic guitar.

keep staring in heaven
feels like the flying angels

stay away and be what you want
search for the pieces of the broken line
cross the bridges of the unknown sight
and drift away from the unhappy life

search for the guy
hope is at hand

and live a life of a sincere love

I haven’t left a trace in their respective blogs but I followed them in Twitter. If that would make any difference at all. Haha. Well, well, I was just hoping that someday someone would actually render or sing this if this is even worth it.

NOTE: This is the third time I posted the composition. Nobody took the challenge. Haha. Pity me. LOL.

anyway, mas maganda pag umuwi ka sa pinas ay mag-inuman tayo kasama ang ibang blogger barkada and for sure, kayang kaya natin makapagcompose ng tune for that.. just bring your guitar, ako na bahala sa keyboard.. yung iba na magdadala ng ibang musical instrument, and malay mo, mabuo ang isang orchestra pag tayo ay nagsama-sama.. hahaha!
